Reminder: Belleville Board of Ed Meeting Tonight, May 14, 2014

There’s no rest for the weary.

Tonight’s public meeting is being held at 6 PM at the High School. The agenda says 7 PM, but the BOE calendar says 6 PM. I doubt the Board wants this to be a highly publicized meeting, so we’re not taking any chances on start times.

The meeting is not properly documented on the BOE website due to a clerical error in the posting, but here is the agenda:

If you didn’t already hear the news, the State of NJ has now assigned a monitor to the Belleville Board of Education to oversee and manage all aspects of the district’s finances, and is empowered with a wide range of authority to settle these matters.

This promises to be a very interesting meeting, and it’s your chance to actually be heard by the state!

Please get over there tonight, and bring your concerns to the attention of someone who is fully empowered to make decisions, to put an end to the hemorrhaging of the school district’s finances, and to return the money where it belongs – toward the education of our children.

Update: There appears to be a scheduling conflict with an event in the BHS auditorium, so I’m not sure which room will host the meeting.

When I find out, I’ll post an update on our FB page.
