Holy Traffic, Batman!

Hey folks,

I have no idea what’s happening, but evidently someone (or something) with a heck of a lot of readers has spotlighted my story “RFID System Locks Teacher In Bathroom?” on Facebook, and is driving a crazy amount of traffic to the site today.

While this is certainly wonderful news and some very welcome attention, it’s causing our little homegrown site to have a bit of a heart attack today. I apologize for any performance issues, and I will look into resolving them as soon as I can.

By the way, where on Facebook are most of you seeing this story? Web traffic metrics won’t go beyond telling me that they originate from Facebook, but I’m curious as to which site or organization featured the story. Looking at the metrics, it must be something with very high readership. Please let me know where you saw this story (other than just a friend’s posting, I mean).

Once again, thank you for all the support!

Update: Turns out it wasn’t our site struggling under the strain of all this new traffic. In an unfortunate coincidence, our hosting provider is experiencing major outages today. This is quite frustrating, especially considering their service isn’t exactly cheap. Nice timing guys – something I blog about finally gets huge traffic, and you pick today of all days to have these problems! 😉

I deeply apologize for any downtime or sluggishness with NutleyWatch today. Rest assured I will be looking into relocating this site to a new host when things calm down.
