Belleville Board of Education Public Meeting (Video) – Sept 15, 2014

Here is the video from last night’s Board of Education meeting at the High School.

Note that the meeting was delayed by about an hour, due to what appeared to be a rather contentious closed session that ran over for an extended period of time.

Here is a copy of the agenda:

Among other things discussed in the meeting, it’s important to note that after approximately 17 days, the school’s technology network is still inoperable, causing tremendous problems for both educators and students alike. The Superintendent and the Board insist they still don’t know what caused this catastrophic outage that has left the school district and the new school year in complete chaos.

Meanwhile, murders have been solved in less than 17 days. Wars have been fought and won in less than 17 days.

Yet, a board of elected officials with two technology professionals as sitting trustees can’t explain what happened.

Well, we have reason to believe the source of the network outage isn’t actually the mystery they’re claiming it is.

So, not that we’re expecting a response, but the Nutley Watch is officially posing a question to the Belleville Board of Education:

Is it true that the school district’s servers were confiscated, or destroyed? And if so, what were the circumstances?

I think the parents of this township deserve the full factual explanation, and not the endless shoulder-shrugging and tapdancing they’ve been getting for almost three weeks now while their children’s education continues to be disrupted.

Stay tuned while we pursue the case, and enjoy the video.
