Reminder: Belleville Board of Education Public Meeting Monday, Sept 15

It’s that time again, folks.

And what better way to cap off an amazing start to the new school year by telling the Board of Education what a wonderful job they’ve been doing with the first two weeks of school?

I mean, think about it – the Board has freed the school district of the shackles of working technology. No internet, no PowerSchool, no schedules, no email, no phones…..consider yourselves liberated, educators!

The school network has been inoperable for two weeks. I can only imagine what a breath of fresh air it must be for the teachers to be isolated from the rest of the known universe. Must be like two weeks in Bora Bora.

And to top it all off, they even gifted the students with an extended summer by giving them no schedules, and no structure for the opening days of their education. Shazam!

Perhaps it’s time to have a nice chat with the trustees and the new superintendent on Monday, 7 PM at the High School.

Let’s see if they can explain how a new technology network infrastructure (including new wiring according to Mr. Rivera) that was part of a $2 million deal with Clarity, with an additional $20,000 per month in support services, could possibly lead to a disaster that left the school district in the Dark Ages for two weeks and counting.

This is also with two technology professionals sitting on the Board.

And be very specific in your explanations, gentlemen. A few of us are experts in the field, and can’t wait to hear this story.

See you all Monday!

Update: The agenda is now available.
