Operation Take Back New Jersey in Nutley on Sept 27

The Nutley Police Department, in conjunction with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will be hosting Operation Take Back New Jersey on Saturday September 27th, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Officers will be stationed at the Nutley Police Department, 228 Chestnut Street, where citizens can properly dispose of their unwanted, unused or expired medications.

The goal of this program is to provide residents with the opportunity to rid their homes of medications that are no longer needed by turning these medications over to law enforcement officials who will then dispose of the substances in a safe and non-hazardous manner.

This program is anonymous; therefore, all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of individuals disposing of medications.

Liquid products such as cough medicine should remain sealed in their original container, ensuring that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Please do not deposit syringes or any other sharp instruments into the sealed collection container.
