Here is video coverage of the Belleville Council meeting and public budget hearing for the amended 2015 budget, which was scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 PM. Why the meeting was scheduled for the middle of the afternoon when three councilmembers could not make it is anyone’s guess.
Belleville residents, your municipal tax increase will now be $134 on a home assessed at $238,000. Not ideal, but that’s down from the $234 increase that the Council previously decided.
Thank you to the Council for making some cuts, and citizen advocates like Vincent Frantantoni, Jeff Mattingly, and others for their tireless efforts on behalf of residents.
