Township announces 4th of July Festivities with Fireworks Carnival starting at 5:00 pm

Nutley Mayor Alphonse Petracco and the Board of Commissioners have announced the Township’s Fourth of July festivities scheduled for Saturday, July 4th 2015.

“Nutley’s Fourth of July Celebration has been a township tradition for many years and is enjoyed by young and old alike. It is a great community event that brings family and friends together for an amazing night.  Petracco stated: This year will be especially exciting as we showcase the new Fireworks Carnival!  Chestnut Street will be lined with boardwalk-like games and inflatable activities followed by our tremendous Fireworks display”. This year’s Fireworks Carnival will be a great opportunity for the entire family to participate in the fun and bring all our residents together for a true community event filled with games and activities for all ages.  This year we will be bringing the Jersey shore to you!”

Festivities will begin at 5pm, with Franklin Avenue closing from Church to Chestnut Street, and Chestnut Street closing from Franklin to Park Drive. The Fireworks Carnival, with boardwalk style games and inflatables, will line the street in front of Town Hall and the Public Safety Building for all to enjoy until 8pm.  There will also be a DJ on hand who will provide music and games in the Oval prior to the start of the Fireworks spectacular, at dusk. Food vendors will be displayed on Franklin Avenue with all your favorite boardwalk and carnival delights for purchase.

In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks will be rescheduled for the next clear night. Check www.nutleynj.org for details.
