BUC Candidates Forum (Video) – Oct 27, 2014

Well, after Youtube suffered mild cardiac arrest from three attempts to upload these videos in HD, I down-sampled them, and now all is well. Note to self….don’t try to upload 2-hour videos at 1080p unless you have a lot of time on your hands.

Here is last night’s Candidates Forum event, hosted by the Belleville United Coalition at the Seniors Center, which was graciously offered as the venue. The event was presided over by Mr. Bob Braun, 50-year veteran journalist of the Star-Ledger. Mr. Braun provided his own questions to the five candidates who are running for the Belleville Board of Education, after he apparently did a great deal of research into what’s been happening in the troubled school district. As you’ll see, he did a spectacular job, as did each of the candidates.

Anyway, no time for commentary, this is just a drive-by post to get this published for the many eager folks who have been waiting patiently for video of this terrific event.

By the way, I have to apologize in advance. This video is the maiden voyage for a new camera, and I didn’t have any time to get accustomed to it before last night (trial by fire, baby!). I missed the first couple of minutes of Jeff Mattingly’s introduction, and I was also fighting a very uncooperative tripod setup, so panning around was a little jerky. Sorry about that. It’s all a work in progress.

I’ll circle back later, after people have had a chance to watch the video.

Hope you enjoy it.
