Belleville: Now Here’s the ACTUAL Truth About Your Taxes

One great thing about having cold hard facts on your side, is that you don’t need to paper the entire town with 3-page letters denying your guilt, and desperately trying to convince people of a flimsy story that makes no logical sense whatsoever.

I can do stuff like drop a document right in front of you, and eliminate any one of the nonsense lies without breaking a sweat.

So, since I have a great deal of blogging to do for tonight and tomorrow morning, I’m going to start with something easy.

The Burke/Longo/Freda political think-tank has been desperately trying to make us believe in their literature that Kimble and Kennedy raised our taxes 64%.

I’m not sure what mathematical formula is being used by the Burke/Longo/Freda campaign to come up with this figure, but I’m guessing it probably came out of their usual “Let’s Just Say Anything and Maybe Someone Will Believe It” playbook they’ve been running for weeks now.

By the way, let’s also completely set aside the fact that Marie Burke was on the council two years longer than Ray Kimble, which technically would make her more responsible for any tax increases than Kimble is. Just skip that for now….

The following tax figures are certified by Belleville Chief Financial Officer Richard Mondelli:

As you can see, and calculate for yourself based on your own home assessment, our taxes did NOT go up 64% in the last 6 years.

But when you consider the fact that the trio behind this outrageous claim can’t even accurately count down the days until their own election, nobody should be surprised that they’re awful with numbers.

The election is May 13th. This was posted on Facebook yesterday, May 9th.

That means when they posted this banner, there were actually four days left until the election…..not five.

If someone screws up a math problem that can be solved by asking a toddler to count on her fingers, they probably shouldn’t be in charge of our money.
