The Star-Ledger finally decided to jump in and publish some coverage of a topic we’ve been talking about here for over 4 weeks now. Where the heck have you guys been?
I’m just teasing. While I understand their caution, I will say it hasn’t been fun being the only one sticking my neck out all this time.

In the article, the Star-Ledger mentions that Burke issued an email statement today, still denying her involvement, and written as follows (in all caps):
“THESE ACCUSATIONS ARE FALSE. THIS IS DIVISIVE AND REPULSIVE CAMPAIGN TACTICS TO DIVERT ATTENTION FROM KIMBLE’S FAILED RECORD AS MAYOR–RAISING TAXES BY OVER 60% AND PROVIDING REDUCED SERVICES TO RESIDENTS AND FAMILIES. MAYOR KIMBLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF. BELLEVILLE DESERVES BETTER AND THAT’S WHY I AM RUNNING FOR MAYOR.”
You’re right about one thing, Councilwoman Burke – Belleville certainly does deserve better.
On a side note, as expected, we get zero credit for breaking the entire story. Such is the life of a blogger :/
In all seriousness though, at least now the greater media has something much bigger to sink their teeth into.
We look forward to you guys picking up and staying with these crazy issues going on in Belleville.
